Speechify Frequently Asked Questions

Q: My pdf document isn’t reading well. For example, some words are being spelled out.

A: This results from the way the file was created. You can use SCRIBE to do additional OCR (optical character recognition) so that it reads more smoothly.

1.       Go to SCRIBE.

2.       Simply choose the file that you want to improve, then click upload.

3.        Select Accessibility conversion for the output format, then pdf – Tagged PDF (image over text) and enter your Stanford email address. In 5-20 mins you will receive an email from pony@sensusaccess.com with a link to download the OCR’d file.

4.       Add the edited file to your Speechify library.
