More About Dining & Meal Plan Accommodations

On occasion, a student’s documented disability precludes them from participating in the meal plan associated with their housing. The OAE and Dining Services partner to determine whether these students need a Meal Plan Exemption from the University’s standard meal plan.

Requests Related to Food Allergies, Dietary Restrictions, or Medical Conditions Managed With Food Control

R&DE Stanford Dining has a robust variety of menu options for residents with food allergies, food restrictions and/or special diets. Staff nutritionists review all ingredients, recipes and menus for allergens, trains R&DE staff on food allergy accommodations and provides nutrition counseling and education for students to help with managing their dietary needs on campus. More information, including a list of identified allergens is available at Eat Well @ StanfordIf your accommodation request is based on food restriction/access needs, we may refer you to work with a Stanford Dining nutritionist in order to determine the most appropriate housing and/or dining accommodation. If your needs cannot be met through the standard dining hall offerings or a personalized menu consultation with the R&DE nutritionists team, please include in your documentation a list of allergies or restricted foods, levels of sensitivity (airborne, oral ingestion, skin contact, etc.), severity of reactions, and a description of symptoms upon exposure.
