David Stentiford encounters a lot of reading materials in his research as a Ph.D. candidate in Modern Thought and Literature (MTL). And not all of them are accessible to him as a dyslexic reader. Join us as David demonstrates how he’s combined workflow automation, text-to-speech software, and computing peripherals - for Mac and iOS - to quickly create accessible content, so he can spend more time with the ideas and less time fiddling. Check out how David ensures he’s able to read just about any long email, journal article, website, or book using techniques that may be adapted for your needs. He will provide a list of Mac and iOS software, a few simple text cleaning tips, and hardware recommendations for automating and supplementing your own digital workflow.
Join us for the first in a series of demos or workshops exploring tools and techniques that can complement your existing accommodations. No prior experience with assistive technology required. Open to the entire Stanford community.
