Accommodations and CTC Team
Retnika Devasher, M.A., M.Sc.
Accommodations & CTC Manager
Hello! I’m Retnika Devasher (she/her), Accommodations and CTC Manager at the Office of Accessible Education. I earned double Master’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management, one from Canada and another from India. Prior to joining Stanford University, I spent over seven years at the University of Waterloo, Canada where I supported students with academic accommodations and managed the exam center. My journey at Stanford began in the Earth Systems Program at the Doerr School of Sustainability, where I was part of the Student Services team.
I’m passionate about supporting students with disabilities to excel both professionally and personally by developing needed resources and collaborating with campus partners / faculty to ensure these resources meet students’ needs. Outside of work, I enjoy a lazy weekend by the beach, hiking through the forests, or exploring new cities with my husband. I’m always open to recommendations – come say hi.
Sandy Herring
Accommodations Coordinator
Hi! I’m Sandy Herring (she/her), and I’m an Accommodations Coordinator at the Office of Accessible Education. I coordinate academic accommodations, specializing in recruiting notetakers. I also recruit academic assistants such as visual descriptionists, lab assistants, and other assistants as determined by your Disability Adviser. I’ve worked at Stanford for almost fifteen years at several departments, and recently celebrated my tenth anniversary with the Office of Accessible Education.
I earned my B.A. in Theater at Wichita State University. My first career was theatrical carpentry, and I worked at theaters ranging from the Goodman Theater in Chicago, South Coast Repertory in Orange County, and all over the Bay Area, including San Francisco Opera, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and TheatreWorks (where I met my husband, Bill!). Bill and I live in Sunnyvale and enjoy classic movies, gardening, our cat Calvin and his socially distanced cat friend Hobbes, and bicycling.
