Antonia DeMichiel, M.A.
Disability Advising Manager

Antonia is a white woman with long blonde hair. She is looking directly at the camera and wearing a cream colored shirt with blue stripes.

Hello! I’m Antonia DeMichiel (she/her), Disability Advising Manager at the Office of Accessible Education. I studied International Studies with a focus on Development in Latin America at the University of Oregon and hold a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of San Francisco.

A native of Berkeley, I have been working in Disability Services since 2018 at a variety of institution types around the Bay Area. My work is informed by my lived experience as a physically disabled woman, the social model of disability, and tenets of the disability justice movement. My goal is to partner with students, faculty and campus partners to understand the impacts of your disability and remove barriers that inhibit an equitable academic and campus experience here at Stanford. In my free time I enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants, hanging out with my calico cat, Molly, and working on my postcard collecting hobby.

Hello there!  I'm Ake Saethia (he/him), Disability Advising Manager at the Office of Accessible Education.  I studied Sociology, and Education at the University of California, Irvine, and obtained a Masters in both Business Administration and Social Work from the University of Southern California.  Since 2012, my focus has been working with students with disabilities in college settings.  In my free time, I like to hang out with family and friends, and get outdoors. My goal is to connect with your specific disability situation, and work together to figure out how we can meet your access needs.

Diane Abundabar, M.Ed.
Student Registration & Operations Manager

Kamusta! I’m Diane Abundabar, OAE's Operations & Student Registration Manager. I hold a M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Institutional Research from Penn State University, as well as a B.A. in Communication Design from California State University, Chico. My passion lies in enhancing students' inclusion, belonging, and success during their time on campus.

Before joining OAE, I spent 15 years with Stanford’s Office for Religious & Spiritual Life (ORSL) at Memorial Church, where I served as the Director of Events and Rathbun Program Manager. In this role, I oversaw a variety of programming and significant campus events, including Baccalaureate. Prior to Stanford, I worked with Educational Talent Search at my alma mater, CSU, Chico—a federally funded TRiO program aimed at motivating first-generation and low-income students to pursue higher education.

I'm a Bay Area native from Vallejo. I enjoy traveling, spending time with my extended family, watching K-dramas, and attending concerts. I especially love cooking and eating Filipino food.

Robin Cole
Alternate Format & Assistive Technology Manager

Robin Cole smiles at the camera. They have short copper colored hair, glasses, and a blue shirt.

Bonjour! I’m Robin (she/her) and I manage the alternate format production team here in OAE. I also work with students to find the right combination of assistive technology tools to access their academic materials. I have been working in disability services for over 12 years  with an emphasis in assistive technology. I am a bit of a francophile, a quiltmaker, animal lover and somewhat of a techno geek.

When I am not working, you would usually find me working on a new quilt, reading, cooking or hanging out with my friends and family. I also love to travel - especially to French speaking countries!

Shelley Hou '00, M.A. '03
Director of Technology

Shelley Hou smiles in front of the Student Services Building.

Hi there! I'm Shelley (they/them, she/her), the Director of Technology here at the Office of Accessible Education. I came to Stanford as a pre-med undergrad and majored in Biology and Anthropology before earning a master's degree in Anthropology. One of my first jobs on campus was with this office, driving other students to their classes in a golf cart. From DisGo driver to lab assistant; Accommodations Coordinator to Manager; and now as Director of Tech, I've seen the OAE grow and evolve to meet the rising needs of our student population. I'm very proud to have designed and implemented OAE | CONNECT, continuing to oversee its ongoing development and administration; enterprise assistive technology; and alternate format production.

As a 1.5 generation immigrant from Taiwan, "family" is spread over multiple time zones, born of blood and curated by choice. My family currently includes my wife, our teenager, and a 60-lb lap dog in East Palo Alto where I spend downtime reading or farming (in Stardew Valley); trying to organize the chaos around me; and attempting an endless list of DIY projects.
